Cirrus instruction at McClellan-Palomar (KCRQ)
Carlsbad is North County's airport, a towered field on the coast with a single runway, a mix of jets, charter and general aviation, and an instrument environment that is hard to beat for training: the marine layer arrives most mornings from late spring through summer, the ILS and RNAV approaches are in constant use, and SoCal Approach is working you from the moment you depart. Owners based in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Vista and San Marcos keep their airplanes here.
I meet owners at their hangar or at the FBOs. A typical instrument session departs north along the coast or inland toward the practice area, then returns for approaches at Carlsbad and Oceanside.
What I do here
- Cirrus transition and recurrent training in your SR20, SR22 or SR22T
- Instrument rating, IPC and currency
- Flight reviews and local airspace checkouts
- Ground instruction at the airport or online
I come to your hangar or tie-down; there is nothing to rent and nowhere else to drive. Book an intro call and tell me where the airplane lives.
Nearby
Oceanside (KOKB) is ten minutes north and a useful non-towered field for practice; Fallbrook (L18) and French Valley (F70) are inland; Montgomery-Gibbs (KMYF) is twenty minutes south. I also serve John Wayne (KSNA) and Orange County owners by arrangement.
