Cirrus instruction at Gillespie Field (KSEE)
Gillespie, in El Cajon, is East County's general-aviation airport and home to a large share of the privately owned Cirrus fleet in San Diego. It has three runways, a busy tower, and the hills close enough on the east side that density altitude, terrain awareness and pattern discipline are part of every lesson, not an afterthought. It also tends to clear of the marine layer earlier than the coastal fields, which makes it a good base for morning VFR work when Montgomery and Carlsbad are still socked in.
From Gillespie the practice areas over the reservoirs and the back-country are minutes away, and the approaches into Gillespie itself, Montgomery and Brown make an efficient IFR training circuit.
What I do here
- Cirrus transition and recurrent training in your SR20, SR22 or SR22T
- Instrument rating, IPC and currency
- Flight reviews and local airspace checkouts
- Ground instruction at the airport or online
I come to your hangar or tie-down; there is nothing to rent and nowhere else to drive. Book an intro call and tell me where the airplane lives.
